The Madras High Court on Friday issued an interim stay order on the release of Shaam starrer ‘Agam Puram’. When a case filed by Madurai Kamaraj Memorial Medical and Educational Trust chief Ramachandran came up for hearing, Justice Rajasuriya ordered the stay and posted the case to further hearing on October 13.

In his petition, Ramachandran said one Gopalakrishnan, who had received Rs 72 lakh from him to procure land for the trust, had to give back Rs 25 lakh. “Without repaying the amount, he had started producing a film titled Agam Puram,” Ramachandran said.

He requested the Court to issue a stay on the release of the film till Gopalakrishnan repaid the amount with reasonable interest.
