His role in ‘Pazhassi Raja’, a film on a freedom fighter from Kerala, would perhaps have made Sarath Kumar to take this decision.

If sources are to be believed, the 'Nadigar Sangam' president is planning to remake Nadigar Thilakam's 'Veerapandiya Kattabomman' in a grand budget.

The movie would be produced by Radaan, a company run by his wife Radhika. It is however said that Radhika is looking for a partner to jointly produce the film.

If everything goes well, Sarath himself would wield the megaphone. 'Veerapandiya Kattabomman' is a biopic on a Tamil king, who fought against the British rule. With Sivaji Ganesan and Gemini Ganesan in lead roles, the film is still remembered by movie-buffs for many a reason.
