Superstar Rajinikanth on Sunday said Vijayakanth, Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi saved the South Indian Artistes Association building from going to the hands of creditors.
Speaking at the valedictory of Ninaivalaigal, a drama festival organised by the ÂNadigar Sangam in Chennai, he said, Âno one can forget the efforts made by Vijayakanth, Sarath and Radha Ravi to protect the building from debts.Â
Stating that the heritage edifice was built by MGR and Sivaji Ganesan, the top actor said the office bearers of the association should come forward to utilise the vacant space inside the premises.
ÂWe have 18 grounds of space here. We should not keep it idle. I am here to do my best to the association. We would also approach the Chief Minister. Let us build an auditorium here, he said.
Earlier, the Superstar honoured veterans like Anjali Devi and M N Rajam. Anjali Devi was the first woman president of the ÂNadigar Sangam while Rajam was the first woman member of the association.
