‘Pokkisham’ is finally going to unfold anytime next week, either on 14th or 15th August, sources seemed to confirm. As the director puts it, the movie is expected to be quite different from his previous projects and also something new in Tamil cinema. He and his team had put in lot of efforts and time to give the movie seventies feel, consequently extending the movie’s release. ‘Pokkisham’ is said to be going to Censor Board today or tomorrow.

Cheran, both director and actor of ‘Pokkisham’, says that the movie revolves around a very special collection of letters that the hero cherishes. “It’s a simple love story set in the 1970s, when there were no cell phones, SMSs or emails. Writing letters was the best way to express love by two people separated by many miles. Love blossoms and is nurtured through letters,” he further revealed to sources. Cheran co-stars with Padmapriya. Sources say that the director initially had Tamannah in mind for heroine’s role. But as the actress was busy with other projects, he roped in Padmapriya. And he was really impressed with her acting talent during the movie’s making.

‘Pokkisham’ is produced by Hitesh Jhabak and the music is by Sabesh-Murali.
