The Universal Hero, who launched the audio of director Kumaravel’s 'Ninaithaale Inikkum', defended the director’s decision to do a remake. 'Ninaithaale Inikkum', featuring Prithviraj, Shakthi, Priyamani, Vishnu and Karthik Kumar in the lead, is a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster 'Classmates'.

Speaking at the audio launch, Kamal Haasan said it wasn’t a derogatory thing to do a remake. “Wherever there’s a script that’s good, I feel it has to be made in Tamil. In fact, Kambaramayana is in itself a remake of the original Vaalmiki Ramayana. I am also doing a remake of a popular Bollywood flick now,” explained the actor.

The director is son of popular yesteryear filmmaker Rangarajan, who had done 'Meendum Kokila' and 'Kalyana Raman' with Kamal Haasan. Praising his legacy was the actor, who said it was heartening to see many people with a film background entering the industry. “There’s so much cinema in their everyday life, in their daily dining hall discussions,” said the actor, noting that Prithviraj hailed form a cinema background, pretty much like Shakthi (son of P Vasu) and director Kumaravelan.

The film has music by Vijay Antony and is being produced by Gemini Film Circuit. On seeing the trailer and a couple of songs of the film, the actor said it showed all signs of being a success.
