Recently Kalabhavan Mani had been seen in the stereotyped protagonist roles of the do gooder, or the village youth or a policeman, in films after films. The actor will turn a politician with his next project titled ‘Caribbeans’. He will be appearing as the state Home minister in this movie directed by debutante Irshad. Produced by Nandhakumar in the banner of Nandhana films, the movie will feature Sindhu Menon and Shwetha Menon as heroines.

The pooja of ‘Caribbeans’ was held last week at the Mascot hotel at Thiruvananthapuram, where the famous lyricist and poet O N V Kurup lighted the ceremonial lamp. The movie will kick off its shoot by the end of this month.

Mani was earlier casted in a similar role in ‘Rakshasa Rajavu’ that came out a decade ago. In that Mammootty movie Mani was a villainous state minister.
