Superstar’s graces 'Amrutha Mahotsava'

Maybe, the throng would’ve got their hopes dashed out when Superstar Rajnikanth failed to make his appearance on March 1, for the grand celebrations of ‘Amrutha Mahotsava’. But, he sprang a surprise on everyone when he appeared for the second day event hosted for the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Kannada Cinema held at Gayathri Vihar Palace, Bangalore.

Rajinikanth, who appeared in a stunning black dress, received a roaring welcome as the crowd raised its hands for a grand round of applause. Speaking on the occasion the actor said, “The first ever film I saw was ‘Makkala Rajya’ in 1958 and ‘Veerapandiya Kattabomman’. I was vividly influenced by these films and would love watching them over again and again’.

The superstar also added that he had read more Kannada novels than his school books as he mentioned about versatile Kannada novelist Tha. Ra. Subba Rao’ trilogy and a specified character of ‘Dhalavi Muddhana’ in it, which characters the actor, would love to perform.

Rajnikanth also felicitated leading celebrities of Kannada Cinema Prakash Raj, Prabhu Deva, Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar and few others on this occasion.
