Director Sabapathy has commenced shooting for ‘Maa’ with all optimism. The director has managed to bring together Bhoomika Chawla, Prithviraj and Srikanth in lead roles.

A happy Sabapathy says,” ' Maa’ is an emotional tale. We believe in the concept of 'athma' (life after death). I firmly believe that even after a person's death, his life, the love relationship he/she shared will stay forever. ‘Maa’ is about a mother and her little daughter and the love they share. Bhoomika plays the mother and Prithviraj plays her friend. Srikanth is cast as her ex lover.

On choosing Bhoomika, Sabapathy says, “when I conceived the storyline, I decided Bhoomika is my choice. Her eyes are expressive and powerful. Prithviraj listened to the story and decided to do the project immediately. Srikanth is my good friend.”

“Yuvan Shankar Raja will score music for my film. Music had always played prominent roles in my films. Bharathan, VIP, Punnagai Poovae have become big hits.”
