Actor Shaam is currently working for the film 'Anthony Yaar' which is directed by C.T. Pandi. Shyaam plays a fisherman in the film and a set resembling a fishing village has been erected in a place called Uvari.

There was excitement along the beach near Uvari and huge crowds had gathered. When the film crew ventured to find out as to what the cause of the excitement was, they found that a whale, about 12 feet in length was washed ashore. The poor whale had apparently crashed against an underwater rock and sustained fatal injuries that lead to its death.

When director C. T. Pandi saw the whale, he got an idea and consulted with his team. Minutes later the area was cleared off and a shot involving Shaam and the whale was canned. Shaam was seen crying at the plight of the dead whale in the shot.

While speaking to reporters Shaam said, 'it was a different kind of experience to film with a whale. Its plight moved me a great deal'.

Local fishermen said the whale was a young one and that adult whales would be as long as 40 feet.
