Mohanlal's latest release 'Maadambi' is all set to end the drought of a big hit in the actor's career, in recent times. The movie has made a fantastic opening grossing over 2.5 crores from its first week in 58 centers.

The recent rains has not taken a toll on the movies collections. The good word of mouth and good promotional articles coming up in the periodicals has helped the movie to climb over the initial bad phase that Lal films were having all through the last year.

If the movie can continue with this opening for another three weeks, 'Madambi' will move up to become the first super hit of Mohanlal in 2008.

Lal's last release 'Innathe Chintha Vishayam' is finally into its last lap to reach hundred days. The movie continues in a lone centre at the capital city, but also has been re released in a number of centers where the movie was originally released.

In the capital city, the movie still has good high class collections, particularly in the weekends. The movie has already grossed 61 lakhs from this single theatre itself.
