Punjabi lass Navneet Kaur is happy at the success of her maiden Tamil venture ‘Arasangam’.

Post ‘Arasangam’, she has won several films in Telugu and a prestigious project in Tamil. Navneet Kaur has been chosen to do the Tamil remake of critically-acclaimed Hindi venture ‘Chameli’.

‘Chameli’ featured Kareena Kapoor in the lead role. She played a prostitute in the movie and it dwelt on an emotional theme.

Says Naveneet, ' I am happy that I was chosen for the role. I would watch the movie several times and hopefully do what Kareena achieved'.

Directed by Sudhir Mishra, ‘Chameli’ won several awards.
