"Mirugam" may not have met with commercial success as expected but it has fetched accolades to the director, hero and the heroine of the film. Director Samy, who made the achievement possible, is seriously trying to lift the one year ban against him to direct films. He has approached Producers Council President Rama Narayanan and sought his help in this regard.
The urgency in his efforts to get cleared of the ban is caused by his successful discussion for a new film featuring Rajkiran and "Mirugam" Aathi. He has even got a producer. The producers of Jeeva Bhavana starrer "Rameswaram" have accepted to produce Samys next.
Though young Aathi will be the hero, it is the seasoned performer Rajkiran who will be the main stay of the film. Hence, Sami did not bother to accept the unexpected amount demanded by the actor as his salary. No one else could handle the role, says the director.
One wonders what kind of role that could be.
Tail: Samy had the idea of giving the title for his film as "Ayyanar". Since the title has already been booked by Vijay, the director of Ajith starrer "Kireedom", he was not able to register the title. He requested Vijay to give him the title but the later refused to oblige. Now Samy is searching for an alternative title.
