Women’s film festival in Chennai

Chennai is set to host a unique film festival that focuses on the films on and by women. The festival would be conducted for around ten days starting from March 1.

Indo-Korean Cultural and Information Centre, National Film Development Corporation, NFAI, Indian Film Festival Movement and Sathyam cinemas come together to conduct the festival in Chennai.

Distinctive actor Nandita Das inaugurates the event on March 1, at Sathyam Cinemas. 84 films from India, Korea, Norway, Iran and other countries will be screened. While 83 films are directed by women, only one film is made by a male director (Rithvik Kadak 's 'Megadega Tara').

Suhasini's Indira, Sarada Ramanathan's 'Sringaram', Janaki Viswanathan's 'Kanavu Meipada Vendum' are also screened in the festival.

All movies will be screened in Sathyam complex and film chamber theatres and the tickets will be available in Sathyam Cinemas from February 27.
