The trend setter of Kannada cinema from 'Om' (only direction) 'A', 'Upendra' (direction and acting) Upendra is going back to his roots after seven years. In the last seven years he has acted as hero in many films but the direction from Upendra that was highly expected was kept in abeyance. He is now taking up direction of his new film with fresh subject from May this year. He explained this much expected news speaking to this correspondent at his 'Buddivantha' get together.

Upendra has four scripts ready and he is working on the screenplay in the month of March and April 2008. With the completion of shooting of 'Bhimoos Bang Bang Kids' and 'Buddivantha' he is not accepting any offers. He has given up eight offers to protect his dreams materialize.

Upendra's actress wife Priyanka is also assisting him this time in his direction. The biggest task for me is not arranging the funds for the film production but meeting the expectations of the audience and the media said the humble Upendra.
