She debuted as a singer and has turned an actor. She is one actress who is really chilled about her star image. She belongs to the current crop of no-nonsense girls and looks every bit confident on the sets and during public appearances.
Some call her snobbish. But in an industry where you have to be careful of unwanted attention, it is one way of warding off unwanted people.
Mamta also dresses simply, yet elegantly and in keeping with the latest trends. We really hope some of the other younger actresses take a lesson or two from her.
Given that she has been brought up in Bahrain, she carries off her Western wear really well and does not go overboard in trying to look like a south Indian actress by ending up in sequined sarees or salwars.
