Nowadays we see the young hero being mentioned as ‘Silambarasan’ instead of ‘Simbu’ in all invitations and official announcements.

What is the reason behind the change? Numerology? No, says Simbu, sorry, Silambarasan. “My parents gave me the name Silambarasan but I have been known as Simbu. The name Simbu seems to be so popular that it almost made my original name forgotten by the people. So I decided to stick to my original name” was his response to a query by a reporter.

He met the press on the occasion of the launch of his forthcoming movie Silambaattam, directed by Saravanan. The movie, according to Silambarasan, will make him nearer to everyone in the family. He dons the role of a temple priest, who turns a rebel due to the circumstances.
