Sunder Jabakumar, a Chennai based lawyer has filed a petition against the recently released movie 'Kelvikkuri'. He has demanded a ban on the movie in his petition filed in the Chennai Metropolitan Court. He has stated in his petition that the movie, directed by Jailani, would spoil the good will of the police department.

According to the petitioner, the movie that deals with the police enquiry of under trails is shocking. The movie, he says, portrays police in a poor light. The way the hero (played by Jailani) making the police officers his captive and his attack on police, could mislead the younger generation, Jabakumar argues.

Justice Anandhi has adjourned the case to December 13.

It is worth recalling that the movie was lying in the cans for a long time and had been subjected to a lot of scrutiny by censor board. Finally it hit the screens last week. It has been receiving lauds from the media for its gusty portrayal of police excesses.
