The audio launch of Thoondil was held in a novel way and with a noble cause.
The current trend in Kollywood is that the launch of audio is held in a star hotel with much fanfare. But the audio launch of Thoondil, directed by K.S. Adhiyaman was quite different. The unit decided to communicate with millions through the popular Sun Music TV channel.
The launch function was held on the evening of November 18, before the cameras of the channel in the channel office and it was telecasted live to the audience.
Veteran cinematographer - director Balu Mahendra attended the function as a symbol of his fondness towards Adhiyamans works. Balu Mahendra heaped laurels on Adhiyaman, saying that he was impressed with the director ever since he made his debut a few years ago.
Balu Mahendra was particularly excited about Adhiyamans Thotta Sinungi. It was a movie with a strong screenplay and I predicted a bright future for him after seeing the movie, said the veteran director. He also revealed that he met Adhiyaman to appreciate him in person after seeing Thotta Sinungi, which gave him some sleepless nights. He presented the director a book on worlds best directors.
He hoped that his Thoondil starring Shaam, Divya and Sandhya too would make it big. Adhiyaman, Shaam were also present on the occasion.
Apart from being novel, the unit has also done something noble. It has marked the occasion with a noble service to the needy by donating 50,000 rupees to an organization that renders service to the hearing impaired children. The amount was given from the money the producers received from the selling the audio rights.
It is indeed a commendable gesture that is worth following by others.
Abhishek Roy, a musician from Bengal, scores the music of Thoondil. Viveks comedy is said to be one of the highlights of the movie. The comedy scene telecasted during the live relay was just hilarious.
