After Rajnikanth's Sivaji swept the box-office, it was the turn films including Pallikoodam, Kireedam and Aarya to leave its impact among the movie-goers. Kireedam starring Ajith and Trisha in lead roles had opened big. Directed by debutant A L Vijay, the movie with hummable numbers by G V Prakash Kumar has managed to collect decent revenue at the box-office.

The movie is all about a youth, who wants to become a cop, to realize his father's dreams. Ajith's splendid performance on screen and his emotional encounters with Raj Kiran managed to win the hearts of the masses.

Thangar Bachan's Pallikoodam released amidst much hype and expectations. Thanks to Thangar's shrewd screenplay, the movie which reminds everyone of his school days, has managed to live up to all expectations.

Thankar Bachan steals the show by his impeccable portrayal of Kumarasamy, the laborer. The others in the cast including Naren, director Seeman, Sneha and Shreya Reddy have played their part well.

It is an off-beat film but rendered in an engrossing manner. The movie's story seems to have struck a chord with audience in rural and semi-urban areas.

Madhavan's Aarya, released after a long delay, has won the hearts of youngsters.

After attempting at making films with an equal mix of commercial and artistic aspects with Love today and Thulli Thirindha Kaalam, director Balashekaran has come out with an all out commercial entertainer. He has combined romance, comedy and action all into the film in the right proportions.

Madhavan, Bhavana and Prakash Raj have played their part well. Madhavan is at his best donning the role of a medico. Giving able support is Vadivelu, who plays Snake Babu in the movie. The race is red hot at the box-office with these three movies posing a tough challenge to each other.
