Remakes have become the order of the day. A host of yesteryear films are being remade in Tamil cinema. The success of Naan Avanilli is a classic example to it. Also Rajnikanth's yesteryear classic Billa is being remade.

Several artists are now eyeing to work in yesteryear remakes of blockbuster movies or sequels.

Chiyan Vikram, who carved a niche for his experimentation on screen, has openly expressed his desire to do the remake of Bharathiraja's classic 16 Vayathinile.

The actor had stated that he would love to do the role of Chappani enacted by Kamal Haasan in the movie.

Sneha, who is known for doing her roles with aplomb, had stated that she would love to portray a strong role like Neelambari in Padyappa, which was played by Ramya Krishnan.

“An actress has to do even grey roles”, she says with a typical smile.
