Remakes are ruling the roost in Kollywood. Yesteryear classics like Naan Avanillai and Billa are classic examples to it.

Joining the list is KB's blockbuster hit Nootrukku Nooru released in 1971. The movie starred Jayashankar and Lakshmi in prominent roles.

Now Balachander has come forward to remake the movie. He has picked Selvah to direct the remake for his home production 'Kavithalaya'. The search for the cast and crew is on.

Interestingly it was Selvah, who directed the new version of Naan Avanillai, which featured Jeevan in the lead role.
