Kanchipuram is famous for silk sarees. People from far off places throng the temple city to buy these silk sarees. But the plights of weavers who come out with these silk sarees are not rosy.

This is the crux of the movie to be produced and directed by acclaimed director Priyadharshan.

Priyadharshan, who had directed blockbusters in Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil, makes a comeback in Tamil after a long gap. Since it is an off-beat theme demanding strong performance from its artistes, Priyadharshan has opted for Prakash Raj to don the lead role.

Giving Prakash Raj able company would be Shreya Reddy. The latter had proved her acting skills in movies like Thimiru and Veyyil.

With seasoned performers, Priyadharshan is confident of coming out with an engrossing tale.

All the best Priyadharshan and his team.
