After Jayaram who plays a singer in Sooriyan, now it's the turn of Meera Jasmine to play the role of a singer. Calcutta News is the name of the new film that she is working in.

Blessy is the director and Dileep is playing the male lead role. The film's shooting is now on in Kolkotta. In the film, she plays the role of Krishnapriya, a singer. Dileep has two other heroines this time- Maanasa and Vimala.

Meera Jasmine is also cast in a Tamil movie opposite Bharath. The film is titled Nepali.
