Gone are those days when the actors featured themselves in macho-man roles to try winning the support of the masses. The latest trend in Kollywood is to sport a different look on the screen and don a different make-up which is quite different from the way they look originally.

After Kamal Haasan and Vikram, it was Suriya who tried out different getups. Now a plethora of young heroes are following the suit.

Arya has grown long beard and coiled hair for director Bala's Naan Kadavul, Bharath plays a Nepali youth in a film titled Nepali, to be directed by V Z Durai, Jeeva has grown beard and appears with a tanned skin for Thamizh MA. Joining the list is Silambarasan. The actor sports a new-look these days. For his forthcoming film Kaalai, Simbhu has grown a flashy hair and reduced his weight considerably.

Already making waves is Kamal Haasan, sporting ten different getups in Dasavatharam, while Rajni portraying a new refreshing look in his Sivaji.
