Yuva Ratna Balakrishna gave many hits with Rayalaseema backdrop like Samarasimha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu. However, there are no notable hits in the recent past from Balakrishna.

Presently, YVS Choudary, who gave a big hit like 'Devadasu' is directing a film 'Okka Magaadu' on his own banner 'Bommarillu' with Balakrishna in the lead.

However, secrecy is being maintained about the details of the shooting, and the characters in the film. The film had recently canned songs in Rayalaseema, Hyderabad, Australia and other places.

Presently some scenes are being shot in Bhongir of Nalgonda district. Balakrishna was involved in a scene wherein he would save a love couple.

A special set was erected for the purpose at Surendrapuri. Balakrishna is donning several attires in the film with different get-ups.

Anushka and Nisha Kothari are playing the female lead, while Simran is appearing in a special character.

Manisharma is providing tunes and the film is slated for release in August.
