The saffron scores - RDB gets nominated for the BAFTA

After winning hearts & accolades of millions around the world, the UTV produced Rang De Basanti, India’s official entry to the Oscars has been nominated at this year's Bafta Awards in the 'Film Not In English Language' category.

British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA), as its popularly known is the highest honor in Film & Television & is known to be British Oscars, announced their nominations on 12th January 2007.

Along with Rang De Basanti, the other films nominated in the same category are Apocalypto, Black Book, Pan's Labyrinth & Volver. The awards will be held on 11th Feb 2007 at the Royal Opera House in London.

Says Ronnie Screwvala, CEO UTV “Rang De Basanti has touched the hearts and minds of viewers across the world. This BAFTA nomination is yet another affirmation of the fact that RDB is a film that transcends all boundaries of ethnicity and nationality and appeals to the basic humanity in all of us.”
