The Tamil film producers and directors are these days found with Tamil dictionary to choose Tamil titles for their films. The State Government's decision to provide tax-exemption to movies titled in Tamil has brought about a change in the industry. Adding to the list of movies opting for a title change is Sundar C's Rendu.

Rendu is colloquial Tamil. Only a pure Tamil title will make a film eligible for tax concessions. So, three days after its release, Rendu has been re-named as Irandu.

Basking on the movie's good opening, Sundar C says, “The movie is doing well. People are appreciative of the comedy and we are hopeful of good collections.”

Featuring Madhavan in a dual role, the movie has Reema Sen, Anushka, Vadivelu and Santhanam in the cast.
