After a long gap, Mohanlal is reuniting with Shaji Kailash in the new film 'Baba Kalyani'.

The last film of them together Natturajavu was also a hit, but somehow the director and the superstar couldn't come together for the last three years. This one has Mohanlal in the role of ASP of the Anti-terrorist squad.

In course of his work, he makes some very powerful enemies. One of them, before his death, gets Baba Kalyani transferred to Kochi, which also happens to be the gangster's stronghold.

The idea is to bring Baba Kalyani to Kochi and kill him. The film revolves around how the cop carries over his work over the obstacles that he faces in every point of time.

The film is scripted by S.N.Swamy, who is associating with Mohanlal after a gap of 16 years.

Mamta Mohandas returns to Malayalam as Mohanlal's heroine. Mohanlal is also playing the role of a cop after a long time, even though he appeared as a military personal in Keerthi Chakra couple of months back.

Alibhai was the film that Shaji Kailash had initially planned with Mohanlal. But as the script by T.A.Shahib was restructured, Lal has opted to move ahead with S.N.Swamy's script.
