Producer Balaji, a one-time associate of director Shankar, is all thrilled at the decent opening for his Uyir.

Says the producer,'No doubt we produced a controversial theme of a young widow determined to marry her brother-in-law. Thankfully, the audience's support has come as a tonic for us'.

Brushing aside reports that they have sidelined Srikanth, who played the lead role in the movie and concentrated on Sangeetha for promoting the movie, Balaji said,'It was just part of our marketing strategy. It was decision taken with the consent of the actor'.

'Works to commence our next production venture is already on. Producing Uyir has taught us several lessons and we are committed not to make the same mistake again'.

He also thanked the cast and crew besides director for the movie's success.
