Having won accolades for playing a negative role in Uyir, Sangeetha is bubbling with joy.

The fiery act of Sangeetha has won appreciation from all quarters.

Nandita Das was the first choice but did not quite make it. The baton was passed to me and I am happy that I justified my selection by giving my best try. It is not everyday you get such a character, Sangeetha says.

Giving all credit to director Samy, Sangeetha says even if an iota of obscenity had crept in, the effect would have been lost.

What next? The actress says, ‘Ideally, my next Tamil film should be a character playing pranks on her lover. A great diversion it was to be from Uyir. Only if it is one-off the essence will be remembered. A couple of films are lined up in Telugu too’, she says.

By acting in a variety of characters like in Uyir and Pitha Magan, Sangeetha has proved a point that she is among the top of actress who are comfortable with both glamour and character roles.
