Prakash Raj is not just a talented actor but also a good producer who is committed to encourage new talents. He is currently producing two films - Poi directed by his mentor K Balachander and another directed by Radha Mohan.

Busy acting in over a dozen movies in different languages, Prakash Raj is planning to take a jump to direction.

Buzz is that the actor, who has snapped the remake rights of the blockbuster Malayalam movie Udayananu Tharam which featured Mohanlal as hero, will direct a movie beginning this September.

Sources close to the actor say, the movie would be a remake of Udhayananu Tharum and Prakash Raj might play a prominent role in it.

The actor had earlier worked as assistant director in over 10 films in Kannada and knows the nuances of wielding the megaphone.

This movie will of course feature Prithvitraj as the hero. He is also the hero of Prakash Raj’s film Mozhi under Radha Mohan’s direction.
