Cheran is currently busy giving final touches to his Mayakkannadi, while his Aadum Koothu directed by T V Chandran is set to be screened at international festivals.

Meanwhile, Cheran has been urged to play the lead role in a movie to be directed by Karu Palaniappan.

Karu Palaniappan had made an impression with his debut venture Parthiban Kanavu, which managed to complete a successful 100 day run at the box office.

Unfortunately his next movie Sathurangam has been plagued by financial troubles and is still to see the light of the day.

The director is currently working on a movie named Sivapadhigaram, a movie with Vishal in the lead role.

After Sivapadhikaram is completed, he will direct Cheran. The movie is reportedly aimed at promoting Tamil culture and Palaniappan has completed penning the script and screenplay for the same.
