After dismal outings in his last two films Ramakrishna and Selvam, director Agathiyan is keen to buck the trend with his next. The acclaimed director, who won the National Award for best director for his work in Kadhal Kottai a few years ago, is currently penning dialogues for Bharathiraja's next Tamil venture.

The director meanwhile has commenced all works on his next directorial venture. The movie would feature Shaam in the lead role.

Agathiyan says, 'It would be a movie featuring Shaam in the lead role. The rest of the cast and crew have not been decided. But I am careful to render an entertainer for the masses and come up with a successful film'.

The director whose films including Kadhal Kottai and Gokulathil Seethai set a new trend in Kollywood, himself needs a new trend.
