Editor Shankar, who became a director with a daringly different film Encounter, hopes to get things right again through Ram.

Ram is his eighth film and it stars Nitin and Genelia in the leads while Hrishitaa Bhatt, a Mumbai girl, is playing an important part.

S Sudhakar Reddy of Sri Venkataramana Pictures produces the movie (he is incidentally Nitin’s dad).

The last time he had a hand in his son’s movie, it ended up in a major fiasco. We are talking about Nitin’s movie with Teja, that took the producers and the director almost to the court.

But Shankar is too much of a gentleman and will not let that happen here.

The movie is a Mumbai gangster kind of film. In fact, much of the movie is shot in Mumbai. But the director assures that it is not only about action. There are plenty of other emotions too, he says. There is good romance and comedy too, he adds.

The movie has music by Yuvanshankar Raja.

It will be a youthful film that will be attractive to all, the director points out.
