DPI leader Thol Thirumavalavan, who has been taking on the Tamil film industry for showing Tamil culture in bad light, is now playing the lead role in Anbu Thozhi. He plays the role of a macho-man in the movie.

The buzz is that by entering the filmdom, the politician-turned-actor is eyeing to take control of Nadigar Sangam, which is currently headed by Vijayakanth, who has taken to politics from acting.

But why is he into acting? Thirumavalavan, says, 'I have no real intentions. It was an earthy script, which aims at promoting Tamil culture. When the producer and director narrated the script to me, I was immediately interested in doing the same.'

'People are talking about me taking control of the Nadigar Sangam. It is all false and baseless'.

The audio of the movie was released recently and the movie would grace the theatres soon.
