The recent rains have given a temporary break for director Ameer. He was busy shooting Paruthi Veeran in remote villages of interior Tamilnadu.

A major portion of the movie featuring Karthik and Priya Mani were shot. However subsequent rains flooded the whole area and Ameer could not resume shooting.

Taking a break, Ameer is now planning to commence shooting only after a month.

In between, taking a cue from directors like Shankar, Bala and Saran, Ameer is planning to venture to production. His maiden production venture would feature actor Jeeva and would be directed by V Z Dorai, who had directed movies like Mugavari and Totti Jaya.

On reports that Ameer himself would play hero in a movie this year, he says 'yes, a couple of new directors have approached me and have also asked me to act in their movies. I want the movies to be story-centric than hero-centric'.
