Director Perarasu's name game

After giving two huge box-office hits, "Thirupachi" and "Sivakasi", director Perarasu is on his way to a hat trick. He launched his new film "Tirupathi" with Ajith.
While shooting for "Sivakasi" he got a call from one of the most prestigious and oldest banners in Tamil Nadu, AVM Productions. Saravanan of AVM wanted to meet him.
"As the shooting of "Sivakasi" was still going on, not even in my wildest dreams did I think he was going to offer me a film."
But Saravanan had other ideas. The moment he saw the director, he asked, will you do a film for us?
He says: "I couldn't believe my ears."
He accepted the offer instantly. He was then told that the hero was Ajith.
The well-known rivalry between Vijay and Ajith does not bother him a bit, because he has worked with both of them. He did two films with Vijay and one with Ajith.
He specialises in 'sentiments' though both his films had large doses of action, dance and all the 'masala' essential for a commercial film.
If "Thirupachi" was about brother-sister sentiments, "Sivakasi" was about mother-son bonding.
Now, "Tirupathi" is about the sentiments of two friends - one is good and other is evil. Ajith plays the good friend and Riaz Khan is the evil one.
Sada will play the female lead in the film.
About giving names of places as titles of films, he said that he just named the hero of his first film Thirupachi and the film became a huge commercial hit.
So he decided to repeat it in his next film "Sivakasi" - only hit among the Diwali releases.
"Now that I have started a new trend, I have to give the name of a place to my third hero also", says the director.
But the story of the film does not take place in Thirupathi.
"The film's sentiments will appeal to all those who live in Tamil Nadu."
