With just a month away for Pongal, it looks certain that nearly half-a-dozen movies might be released in Kollywood on the D-Day.

After a long time, Ajith and Vijay are expected to lock horns at the box-office while Vijayakanth, Arjun, Silambarasan and Jayam Ravi all set to join the race.

Though not yet confirmed, buzz is that Vijay's Aathi, a remake of Telugu hit Atanokkadae, will be out. Directed by Ramana, the movie stars Trisha opposite Vijay.

Ajith's comeback vehicle would be Paramasivan directed by P Vasu. The movie has a release ahead of Ajith's Godfather.

Speculations are rife that Vijayakanth's Sudesi will have its release on Pongal while Jayam Ravi's Idhaya Thirudan directed by Saran for Kavithalaya Productions and Silambarasan's Saravana directed by K S Ravikumar are sure to hit theatres.
