After New and A Aah, S J Suryah is now playing a hero again, but with lesser responsibility ---he will not be directing the movie.

Suryah plays the hero in debutant director Tamizhvanan's Kalvanin Kadhali. He has Nayantra for his company.

Tamizhvanan, engrossed in shooting a song sequence in Chennai recently, took time off to speak about the film.

He says, 'There is no tension directing a director-actor. I know I am directing Surya, an excellent script-writer, who has to his credit such hits as Vaali and Kushi. But he doesn't impose himself on us. He is willing to help with tips but doesn't interfere'.

Asked what the movie is all about, the director says, as the title suggests it is about a thief and his romantic exploits.

Vivek, Pyramid Natarajan, Manickam Vinayakam and S N Lakshmi play important roles.

The film has the music score of Yuvan Shankar Raja, he adds.
