Actress Deepu tried her luck in a couple of Tamil films but could not leave any impact.

Now the actress has gone in for a name change and it seems to have worked in her favor.

'After I got re-christened as Jhanavi, I have offers coming my way', the actress says.

She is currently acting in Alagai Erukurai Bayamai Irukirathu and Madhu opposite Ramesh, besides an untitled movie along side Vikranth.

Deepu alias Jhanavi says, after Anbu, I acted in a Telugu movie opposite Aryan Rajesh. Then I played the lead role in the Malayalam movie Rain Rain Come Again. But nothing in Tamil'.

But the name change seems to have done the trick.

Now I have offers coming my way in Tamil, she says with glee.

The actress says, 'I am keen on choosing good scripts. I am greatly inspired by Simran and Jyothika, who toiled hard to become popular here. I am sure my day will come soon when I would leave my mark here'.
