Jeyam Ravi's Mazhai, a remake of blockbuster Telugu movie Varsham is all set for a release this week-end. According to Ravi, the movie has come good. 'It has got a fresh feeling all through. A romantic film, it would be a real entertainer for the youths'.

Asked on developing a liking for romantic subjects, Ravi says, 'no, as an actor I love to do variety of films. If my Jeyam was a romantic film, my next M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi was more sentimental and emotional and Daas was action-packed'.

Ravi has got a desire to direct movies. He says,'having studied visual communications, I want to direct movies. The gap between commercial films and art films should be reduced. I want to act even in art films and win more awards for my acting skills'.

Sounds strange coming as it does from somebody who is making a career out of remakes from Telugu.
