Captain Vijayakanth on Tuesday said that he will contest the forthcoming Assembly elections without aligning with any other party but he is not opposed to others joining him.

Speaking to media persons after distributing financial assistance to the poor and the needy, Vijayakanth said, 'all works for my maiden political conference in Madurai is almost complete and I would be making a on the spot survey of the arrangements soon'.

Urging his fans to participate in large numbers, Vijayakanth said, 'there is noting which prevents me from using the photographs of Dravidian movement's stalwarts Periyar, Anna and MGR in the conference venue'.

Stating that the name of his political party would be announced at the venue, Vijayakanth said, 'I will begin a Statewide tour beginning December and in between I might even act in a film.'

'I understand that politics is no easy joke and I am determined to give my best', he said.
