It is always a fancy among scribes, especially from the vernacular press, to take potshots at Kamal Haasan. And when producer Khaja Mohideen, the producer of Kamal's new film Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu, attempted suicide, film scribes in an unholy hurry tried to paint Kamal as the villain. They tried to make a case that Kamal could have been one of the reasons for Mohideen's bid .

But, as it always happened, there was not even a shred of evidence for the speculation.

Poor Kamal, he had to bear the cross for the whole messy affair.

Luckily, Khaja Mohideen himself went to Kamal's place and cleared the air that the actor had nothing to do with his suicide attempt. He also made it clear that Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu would go on as per schedule.

Khaja Mohideen drove straight from a private hospital, where he was admitted after he attempted suicide, to Kamal Haasan's office. Tamil Film Producers Council president T G Thyagarajan accompanied him.

Khaja Mohideen also said Kamal, "a gentle human being, is an individual who loves film industry and the people involved in this trade".

The exact reason for his attempting suicide would be spelt out in a couple of days, Khaja Mohideen said.

Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu will go as scheduled next week and would hit theatres this December, he said.

Kamal Haasan and director Gowtham were also present on the occasion.
