We have learnt in our history lessons as to how kings of the yore used to tie little notes onto the legs of pigeons to deliver messages to their neighboring states and counterparts. Times have changed and pigeons are now being used in races in some countries. With apt and necessary training, these pigeons will be put into competition where they will be made to fly from one place to another place and the fastest pigeon will be judged the winner.

Training these pigeons is an arduous task. Now, Dhanush fresh from his success in both 'Shamitabh' and 'Anegan' will be next seen in 'Maari' as a pigeon-trainer. It is a well-known fact that Dhanush has already acted as a rooster trainer in the National Award winning film 'Aadukalam' and it is believed that he will once again rock in this role too.

Kajal Aggarwal is playing the female lead opposite to Dhanush in 'Maari'. The talkie portion of the film is said to be nearing completion as per the film's production crew.

Along side Dhanush and Kajal Aggarwal, Vijay Jesudas, Robo Shankar and others are playing important roles. 'Maari' is being directed by Balaji Mohan whose previous flicks include the Siddharth-Amala Paul starrer 'Kadhalil Sodhapuvadhu Eppadi' and Dulquer Salmaan-Nazriya Nazim starrer 'Vaayai Moodi Pesavum'. Anirudh Ravichander is the composer for the film with Om Prakash handling cinematography. actress Radhikaa Sarthkumar's Magic Frames is producing 'Maari'.
