If at all anything has become a common denominator across all the languages, then, it would be the special dance performance by a lead heroine in a commercial flick. These performance/numbers have been addressed as 'item songs' and many people have already raised their concerns to rename it and the latest one to join in the list is, Shruti Hassan.

The 'Poojai' girl had performed a dance number in Mahesh Babu's 'Aagadu' and will be scorching the screen in the upcoming Bollywood movie 'Tevar', which is a remake of 'Ghilli'. In a recent press meet, Shruti made a request to the media houses to get an alternate name for the dance numbers and not to write them as item numbers. Will the media listen to her?
