The much-expected elections to the Tamil Film Producers Council ended only a week back. Now the more hyped and more awaited polls for the South India Film Artistes Association (Nadigar Sangam) are round the corner ---- it will be held coming January.

According to sources, 'Captain' Vijayakanth is certain to seek a re-election as the President of the Nadigar Sangam, while Sarath Kumar, would contest for general secretary's post.

As of now, it' looks to be a smooth sailing for Vijayakanth.

According to his camp, Vijayakanth has been instrumental in getting a clampdown on pirated VCD by the State government and has also done enough for the association. It's certain that he would be re-elected.

But the way Sarath Kumar has been going to the Press has given way to some speculation. He might spring a nasty surprise on Vijayakanth, sources say.

Meanwhile, the last general body meeting of the SIAA would take place on the 29th December during which various issues including preparation for polls would be discussed.
