Sandhya the heroine of Kadhal produced by Shankar will not give up her studies. She is studying for her tenth class exams and to cover up for the days lost for shooting has taken a tuition master. She says that she would not miss out on her school- college days though she has offers pouring in. She has been signed by Vishnuvardhan of Kurumbu fame. Speaking about her experience in Kadhal she said that without any camera experience she would do the opposite of what Balaji said and many times went out of the frame. After some time the director started losing his cool and began to shout at her. She felt terrible but her mother consoled her. Her confidence came back after Shankar praised her for her work.

Her real name is Revathy. Shankar who selected her only named her Sandhya. Though a Keralite she has been in Chennai all her life and knows Tamil well. She says that many smooch scenes were taken with Bharat but later chopped off by the director at the editing. She felt sad that these scenes were edited .
