If sources are to be believed then it is said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has approached Subhash Ghai, offering him to remake the latter`s 1993 superhit action thriller Khalnayak`.

Last year Ghai had expressed his wish to come up with a modern-day version of the Sanjay Dutt starrer; but justifying that it wouldn`t be a remake. However the plan was pushed aside, only to be refreshed recently. It is said that Bhansali has proposed collaboration between his production house and Ghai`s banner Mukta Arts for Khalnayak remake. While Ghai has not refused the idea, nothing has been confirmed as of now.

'Khalnayak' also starring Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit, had been hit with controversy back then given the fact it was released when Sanjay Dutt was arrested for TADA and also one of its songs "Choli Ke Peeche" was labelled as obscene. The other movies of Ghai which are on the road of remake include Hero` and Ram Lakhan`.
