Kalaiyarasan was a face we remebered having seen somewhere but couldn't place it. But now, after the release of 'Madras' the tables have turned for him. He`s done small roles in 'Nandalala', 'Attakathi', 'Mugamudi' and 'Madha Yaanai Koottam' but Studio Green`s film 'Madras' brought him more fame than he every thought possible and the actor is excited.
He plays an important role, Karthi's best friend named Anbu and said, “When I went to theatres after the release, I had to be escorted out by security guards like some big hero. Madras has changed my life completely. Now I`m flooded with requests for autographs and photos. At Albert Theatre, people were shouting Anbu Anna`.”
When asked about acting with Karthi, he said, "I was hesitant to treat him in a friendly manner since he`s a star. But he himself came and put his hand on my shoulder the first day and put me at ease. He was also very considerate towards everyone. He would give counter cues from behind the camera and request for breaks when anyone was tired. He would patiently wait during our many retakes. All this camaraderie has translated into excellent results on screen.”
And about the romantic scenes that looked so real, he grinned and said, "Luckily my wife hasn't seen the movie yet.” Kalaiyarasan's next film is Urumeen and it seems like he is getting offers to be a hero in a few films too!
