Amyra Dasthur

Young actress Amyra Dasthur who will be making her Tamil film debut opposite National award winning actor Dhanush in Anegan` directed by K. V. Anand has opened up about how her maiden Kollywood film happened.

Amyra made her acting debut with Bollywood film Issaq` for which she was promoting at the time when Dhansuh`s Bollywood project Raanjhanaa` was being promoted in 2013. It was then when K.V.Anand noticed her and offered her the lead lady`s role in Anegan`. The girl was amazed by the fact that such a role was offered to her even before he Bollywood debut was released. She was bowled over by the script narrated by Anand and she immediately agreed to take up the role.

Speaking about the roles she and Dhanush play in the film, Amyra says, that they play more than one role in the film set across different time periods. As such the film cannot be classified under one single genre and it offers a lot of action, adventure and thrills.

Speaking about her co-actor Dhanush, the half Maharastrian and half parsi girl said that Dhanush is one of the most chilled out guys one can get to work with. She recalled an incident in the shooting spot when Dhanush accidentally punched on her face and kept apologizing and kept feeling bad for causing harm to her.

Ever since starting to work on films Amyra has not signed any project after Anegan`. For this she says it is quality over quantity for her. She said she was listening to a lot of scripts and will select the best one at the right time.

To enhance her knowledge of Tamil films which is limited as of now, Amyra has been asked to watch Tamil films from different periods by her director
K.V.Anand. She recalls having watched Vikram`s path breaking film Sethu`, actress Madhoo aka Madhubala`s films and a lot of Mani Ratnam directed films. Amyra signs off saying she loves actor Vikram`s body of work which was absolutely amazing
